Jeanne needed safer access
Stairs were becoming unsafe, and traditional options were expensive or required too much space.
Family-driven. Factory-direct.
Jeanne wanted to remain in the home she loved, but cancer treatments made everyday stairs and trips outside increasingly difficult. Her family could not find a practical lift they could afford—so two brothers built one.

Born from a family need
This is the origin of Affordable Lifts: two brothers, now the company’s owners and founders, working from a backyard shop to solve a real mobility problem for their mother-in-law.
They focused on what Jeanne actually needed—durability, safe operation, straightforward controls, and a price a family could realistically consider. Neighbors began asking about the lift, then families across the country.
The backyard solution became a manufacturing company, but the purpose remained the same: help people maintain independence and stay connected to the homes and lives they built.
How one project became a company
Stairs were becoming unsafe, and traditional options were expensive or required too much space.
They built a simple, dependable lift in a Lynchburg backyard workshop.
The same access problem existed everywhere, and word spread quickly.
Affordable Lifts is expanding into a 24,000-square-foot Lynchburg facility while keeping the same mission.
What guides the work
We configure the lift around the real rise, landing, rider, weather, and daily routine.
Customers buy from the manufacturer without a traditional dealer markup between the family and the factory.
Every lift represents a parent, veteran, grandparent, caregiver, church, or community solving a meaningful access problem.
