The outcome matters most

The goal is not simply reaching another level. It is staying connected to home.

Keep using the front door, porch, garage, deck, and rooms that hold the routines you know. The right lift can restore access without asking a family to rebuild its life around the stairs.

We start with the person, the space, and what independence needs to look like there.

Choose the need, not a model number

Start with the life or space the lift needs to support.

A homeowner aging in place, a church welcoming every visitor, and a business moving materials do not need the same configuration. Choose the closest fit and we will narrow the rest.

Station height is measured from the lower floor to the upper landing. That measurement determines the lift configuration and product band.

Through 34 inches: often ships fully assembled for a prepared site. 35–43 inches: ships partially assembled. 44 inches and above: uses the tall base-bracket configuration secured to the structure.

Platform and gate planning

Choose the travel path that fits the space.

The standard 36 × 48-inch platform handles a wheelchair in a straight-through layout. Larger platforms are available when a caregiver rides with the user or a turn is required.

Straight-through

Enter on the left and exit on the right, or travel the opposite direction. A 36 × 48-inch platform is the standard wheelchair-friendly choice.

90-degree turn

Enter from either side and exit through the front. Platform size depends on the wheelchair, rider, and whether a caregiver is helping.

Same-side entry and exit

Use one left, right, or front opening and return through the same side. Openings may be configured with or without gates as appropriate.

Wheelchair plus caregiver: we typically recommend a 36 × 60-inch platform for straight-through travel. For a 90-degree turn, the team will confirm the smallest platform that allows safe, comfortable movement within the available 44-inch depth and 70-inch width limits.

Common questions

What people usually need to know first.

Can the lift be installed indoors or outdoors?

Yes. Residential and community lifts can be configured for indoor or outdoor use around the site.

How high can the lift travel?

Affordable Lifts serves level changes from approximately 3 inches up to 20 feet.

Is a cargo lift safe for people?

No. Cargo-only lifts are for materials, equipment, and inventory and must never transport a person.

Do I need exact measurements before requesting a quote?

No. An estimated rise, ZIP code, and wide photos are enough to start the first project review.

What is included in the product price?

The published ranges are product-only. Shipping, site preparation, installation, taxes, and selected options are separate.

Can a church or nonprofit use a short lift?

Yes. Short-rise community products are especially practical for modest level changes. The property must already have an entry solution in place that satisfies its applicable accessibility requirements.

Ready to make access feel possible again?

Tell us the height, the space, and how the lift will be used. We will help you narrow the right configuration.
