Questions customers ask most

Does Affordable Lifts install the lift?
Affordable Lifts manufactures and ships the lift. Many customers arrange installation independently, and our Installer Network may help connect you with an independent contractor. Installers are not employees of Affordable Lifts. Review the installation overview and speak with Sales about your site.
Can I install the lift myself?
Many prepared short-rise sites can be completed by a mechanically capable customer or contractor. Taller lifts, structural attachments, electrical work, permits, and unusual sites may require licensed professionals. Follow the lift-specific manual and approved drawings.
When does a lift need bracing?
Lifts through 44 inches may be eligible for a freestanding configuration. Above 44 inches, the column and upper structure require site-specific bracing review. A column against a wall or landing may use standard attachment; an offset or open-site column may need upgraded triangular or post bracing. Do not assume an existing used lift can be extended without review.
What power does the lift need?
Plan for a dedicated 110V, 20A circuit near the lift. Outdoor installations should use properly protected GFCI power. Final electrical work must follow the lift manual and applicable local codes.
How do I find the correct manual?
Use the serial number on your lift and visit Manuals & Guides. If the exact document is not listed, send the serial number and lift photos to Customer Support.
What if I am concerned about the lift’s safety?
Take the lift out of service and do not use it until the concern is resolved. Call Customer Support at 434-515-2321. Review the Safety Information page for inspection resources.
What is the warranty?
The standard warranty is one year for parts and three months for labor. It excludes abuse, improper use, cosmetic paint damage, unauthorized changes, and other conditions described in the written warranty. Warranty coverage is not transferable, and used lifts are not covered.
Can I buy or sell a used lift?
Yes. The Used Lift Exchange helps buyers discover privately owned lifts and helps sellers reach interested buyers. Affordable Lifts can review fit and required modifications, but the used lift transaction remains between the private parties. Explore used lifts.
What payment methods are accepted?
Affordable Lifts accepts major cards, e-checks, paper checks, and domestic wire transfers for qualifying orders over $1,000. Paper checks may require a processing period before production or shipment can proceed.
Can my order be expedited or rushed?
Expedited production moves an order forward within the available factory schedule. Rush service may require special scheduling and is not always available. Ask Sales for the current options before relying on a specific completion or delivery date.
What is the cancellation policy?
After an order is placed, cancellation may incur a charge equal to 20% of the lift price. Standard shipping charges are refundable before shipment; an order cannot be cancelled after it ships. Review your written sales agreement for controlling terms.
Is financial assistance available?
Some customers use financing, grants, veterans’ programs, nonprofit resources, or local accessibility assistance. Availability varies. Visit Pricing & Financing or ask Sales for current resources.
